London visit: check. A great trip to a city I have been 6 times already. Best time ever. How to check the city from a different point of view, and enjoying every single minute of it. From walking like a maniac around their gorgeous parks, going out at night, having chinese/japanese lunch in the street, walking around the city surrounded by trillions of people and more. A great adventure with some photos for your viewing pleaseure…

And interesting to know what I brought with me…

“Swine flu is so hot right now”

“The Pleasures and sorrows of work” by Alain de Botton. Looks like this is the “author” when you are in your 30’s and begin to wonder about life. Nima suggested “the architecture of happiness” from the same guy, and something about love. Looks like at some point, we wonder about those issues more than ever, and reading a book to try to clear certain clouds we might have, helps.

In an era where work is overrated, and stress is commonly stated as a 21st century disease, maybe I will have to pay close attention to this bought I bought at the MONOCLE store. 60 pounds thou, philosphy aint cheap…

Porsche, porsche… you have spent the last years focusing on bulky Suvs, working your way with the Panamera and updating with leather seats your old Bosters and 911 and adding more turbos to your engines. The guys in their 50’s (or those with selfconfidence issues) are still buying your cars. Now you come up with a 250hp car for less than 40k euros. All good. Bring it on. Im still a F20C fan.
New project in the way: Qatar with my Nike SB team. I will be shooting my first skate tour in years next week. The idea is also to get footage for two video projects and much more. Will be an interesting, exhausting, but cool trip. Also, one of my longest trips outside the country, 9 days. As opposed as last tours, I will be filling my photo backpack with the minimum. The setup:
-1 D300s camera + 16mm digi fisheye + 18-200 Tamron lens
-1 LX3 Panasonic Lumix camera
-1 sunpak 544 flash unit
-1 polaroid Spectra camera
-1 Vivitar Hv185 flash unit
-2 Pocket wizard receivers + transmitter
-1 Vivitar SJ120 flash unit
-All the usual cables and around 6 SD 4Gb cards
Sum up a Macbook pro 15″ + 1 spare battery and I will be set. No Hasselblad this time, no bulky lenses
Just got the D300S and will be trying the new toy wednesday in the city.
