I dont write much lately in here. I try to post certain things or photos I find interesting every now and then.
These last weeks have been somehow strange, hard and dramatic. Life is not easy kids… Im pretty sure everyone knows that.
So these last days I have basically been thinking and wondering about the mysteries of life and existence. Sounds metaphysical, and maybe it is. You knwo those phases when you feel changes are happening in your life and inside of your own self? Yes, thats whats going on over here.
For the last months my posts have been totally unrelated to sportswear, t-shirts, shoes or even whats cool and whats not. Just my plain fucking day by day, friends, fun and dramas.
As this is my place to let my friends and fam know whats going on in my head, I’m ok with it.
I have been blogging at the SKATE FAMILY blog for about a year, I do it in spanish, and it gives me a personal space to fill with anything I feel like, can be skateboard related, or not. Check it out if you want to find out more about my day by day adventures.
For those of you asking about T-Shirts, and such… I might drop something soon, but just for the love of it. Im not in the mood for tees, shipments, orders, shop owners who think they rule the world, and everything in between.
And holidays, Im planning to do something in july. Maybe California, maybe somewhere… email me your suggestions joder!
Does somebody remember Helge Tscharn?
He was one of the first european pro skate photographer and ran the good german MUNSTER Magazine for years, he shot for many brands, had a couple photo books and shot with many musicians, skaters, stars, friends and unknown heroes.
He was my main inspiration in my skate photography years. His ability ro create frozen moments, adapt lighting and play with city landcapes from all over the world created a unique style, imitated by some, but never duplicated. I used to investigate for minutes every one of his photos, to understand where he placed the flashes, trying to guess the F stop and wondering what film he used for that certain shot. Yes, we are talking before digital came to the rescue of mediocre photographers.
We became friends, and eneded up email each other and meeting in championships. he gave good advice, and helped me in certain articles when I was running UNO Magazine.
Some day, in one of those weekly emails where we used to talk about our personal lifes, he told me changes were going on in his life. We used to talk about our personal dramas and adventures, as both our ex girlfriends were hairdressers… Next thing I know, he´s having a child, and leaving to Brazil to begin a new life with her brazilian wife and soon-to-be child.
I plan on seeing you again soon my friend, keep doing your thing and enjoy those amazing beaches!
