Chris Reed

I met Chris Reed like 4 years ago, somewhere in Canada, in my first time with the guys that would build what Nike SB is today. In that week, I saw the early samples for the Zoom Tre, and we talked about something called 6.0. I learnt how to snowboard in the Whistler resort and came back home with a smile in my face and a lot of energy.
We kept in contact and eventually we worked on two shoes, one, the Nike SB “SNT” show I did for Barcelona Sants plaza, the spot I grew up with my skateboard family, the SNT clan.

Sandy Bodecker, then the head of the whole Nike SB camp, proposed doing a Don Quixote shoe in one of his visits to the city. I loved the idea and begun working in what I envisioned as Dunk His worn by Don Quixote himself. Chris was the man to work with in terms to get this project done. For those who dont know previous works by Chris, he was the guy who did the Supreme Dunk Hi’s with the lace lock and the stars.

For some reason Chris left to work in another company and the Don Quixote shoes never saw the light. I kept visiting Chris’ blog and asking around what he was into to his ex colleagues. I learnt he was heavily into art.
And I got this email today about his last Juxtapoz magazine feature.

He states in the email hes waiting his phone to ring, I assume to be famous and rich… Ah! the life of the artist!
